Highgrove Video Data Collection - Sign Language US

What is the project about?

This study aims to collect video recordings of participants signing phrases, numbers, fingerspelling sequences, and conversational prompts using American Sign Language (ASL) or Black American Sign Language (BASL).

Task Description:

Selected participants will complete approximately 1,000 short video recordings using their own Apple device from their home environment following the provided guidelines.

Who is eligible?

To participate, you must:

• Be at least 18 years old.  
• Reside in the United States (excluding Texas, Illinois and Washington). 
• Be fluent in ASL or BASL.  
• Be able to read and understand written English.  
• Have access to an eligible Apple device (iPhone 12 or newer, iPad (9th Generation 2021 or newer, MacBook with Apple M1 processor or newer, iMac with Apple M1 processor or newer) 
• Have a suitable home environment for video recording.  
• Be comfortable recording yourself on video.

Where is the project taking place?

This is a fully remote project. You can participate from the comfort of your home or preferred location within the United States.

Estimated Project Duration

Each video recording will be about 10 seconds in duration, with a total estimated participation time of approximately 10 hours across the full study. 

How much is the compensation?

Participants can earn $700 USD upon successful completion and acceptance of all 1,000 required video recordings. 

Final compensation is subject to quality review and acceptance of submitted recordings. 

General Referral Bonus Program 
We offer a referral bonus of $25 USD for each participant you refer who successfully submits 1000 required video recordings.
